Spotlight on Success!
| Garcia * Family’s experience with our Outreach Team Our Outreach Team received a call from a local church member named Cindy*, who shared with us about a family of five living on the streets. Cindy suggested our agency, Loaves and Fishes, to the Garcia family as she was familiar with our work through her volunteerism and donations. She connected us with the Garcia family, who are Honduran immigrants still battling a language barrier. Cindy even offered to help as an interpreter and arranged a meeting between the family and our staff. The Garcia family had come to the United States hoping to find a better life but ended up struggling to make ends meet. They faced numerous obstacles and ended up homeless on the streets of St. Louis. However, our Outreach Team was able to support them and place them in our family shelter. After nine months of hard work and persistence, the family finally had a place they can call home. – What an American Dream! *Name changed to protect identity. |

| Looking for a rewarding volunteer opportunity for your group? We’d love to have you. Volunteers help create the daily boxes for the food pantry clients, organize food pantry, perform light cleaning in the shelter, and much more. |
