Loaves and Fishes Goes to Washington
For one week in July, CEO Jacki MacIntosh and Program Director Tom Crees attended the National Alliance to End Homelessness conference in Washington DC. They participated in small groups, attended lectures, met Missouri representatives to talk about the importance of ending homelessness, and gave our elected officials a sneak peek at our mobile H.O.M.E. unit. As homeless advocates, we discussed legislation, including the new Missouri House Bill NO. HG1606, which negatively impacts our homeless community. Our concers were heard by Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO), Congressman Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO), and their representatives, along with representatives from Senator Eric Schmidt’s (R-MO) office. We look forward to presenting at next year’s conference. Jacki MacIntosh, CEO |

Spotlight on Success!
Refugees of War
This year alone, Loaves and Fishes for St. Louis has been able to help out 13 families who are Ukrainian refugees. We’ve been providing them with over 70 monthly meals per individual, which has made a real difference in their lives. By taking care of their basic needs, we’ve been able to help these families focus on more important things, like finding stable living conditions and getting the support they need to thrive. It’s been an honor to provide this kind of support, and we are proud to be aking a difference in the lives of these families. *Names changed to protect identity. |
